Cervelo and Look Recall Bike Products

Cervelo and Look, top bike and bike component manufacturers, have issued voluntary recalls for some of their bike goods.

For Cervelo, they are recalling about 5,800 Wolf SL bike forks. They are made of carbon fiber, as most road bike forks are in current configurations, and the steerer tube in particular has been cited as potentially hazardous. To date, 12 breaks have been reported for the Wolf SL bike fork.

Look has issued a recall on roughly 40,000 pairs of Keo pedals. There are several models of Keo pedals in the Keo family - the ones being recalled have steel axles. Pedal models under recall include the Keo Classic, Keo Sprint, Keo HM and Keo Carbon with a date code between January 2004 and December 2005. The date code for the Keo Classic, Sprint and Carbon pedals is on a dial stamped onto the pedal. The date code for the Keo HM is on the bottom of the pedal, with the letters A through L corresponding to the month, and the numbers 4 and 5 indicating 2004 or 2005.

Cyclists using either the Cervelo forks or the Look pedals as described above should stop using this equipment immediately and contact the manufacturers.
