More product description: Let something else like the fork or groupo decide. Featuring a complete ball bearing system for smooth & reliable braking. They live in Pacific NW and ride on the mud trails in the mountains. They hear good things about Avid Mech disc brakes though. If pressed They'd say They'd had better results with the MX2's, but They certainly wouldn't recommend them. quite better than the 2's (They've read). They way out perform the mx2s and They'll probably use them until hydro discs become more standard, and cheaper. If you want hydraulic go with Hayes HFX 9.
