More product description: finally got 'em built by my buddy muzz, the zen master of all things mountain bike. , xtr v-brakes, titec bar/stem/post, xt shifters/cranks/front d. These hubs are the lightest hubs on the market. Shimano stuff (lasted 3 months), Spinergy (front only, still doing fine after two years but retired to beater bike), SRAM (needed warranty coverage), blah blah blah. The Kings are lighter, have better quality bearings, are probably stiffer, and have that ingenious ring drive mechanism, but They don't race or trials ride, so They can't detect these incremental improvements over the XTs while in the saddle. The ratchet wore out after 10 years of all kinds of riding. It has persisted on coming loose ever since. Sealing, i am afraid that these hubs were obviously not designed with brittish winters in mind, after just a couple of cross country rides in mud, i was fnding i was having to service the beggers, which is not satisfactory from a product with this price tag, it's not even as if i was riding downhill on them.
