More product description: They think a pad might be helpful when carrying my bike up and down 8 flights of stairs. Don't like 'em? Don't put one on your bike. From knee pads for softball to elbow pads for multi-sports use. The gel does great at shock absorbtion, the construction is sturdy especially considering the cheap price. It just happens to be the one They saw while They was thinking about a post on the subject of top tube pads. They think the main reason that people put top tube pads on their bikes is to protect the frame from either the (usually untaped) handlebars swinging around or more likely from an object that the bike is locked to. They did a test run on some very hard ground, and They didn't feel a thing on my knees, not one single jolt! They have zero regrets buying these, they will serve me quite well. He really likes them and they do the job.
